Eurozone set for fastest growth since 2007, says ECB
The European Central Bank (ECB) has raised its eurozone economic growth forecast for this year to 2.2%, the fastest growth in 10 years.
ECB president Mario Draghi said the 19-country bloc grew faster than expected in the first half of the year.
It came as the bank kept eurozone interest rates and its bond buying stimulus programme unchanged.
Mr Draghi said the ECB would probably make decisions about its stimulus measures next month.
'Dolphin' attacks fool Amazon, Google voice assistants
Voice-controlled assistants by Amazon, Apple and Google could be hijacked by ultrasonic audio commands that humans cannot hear, research suggests.
Two teams said the assistants responded to commands broadcast at high frequencies that can be heard by dolphins but are inaudible to humans.
They were able to make smartphones dial phone numbers and visit rogue websites.

Roald Dahl's final children's book has been illustrated by his longtime collaborator Sir Quentin Blake, 26 years after it was first published.
Billy and the Minpins was originally published as The Minpins in 1991, shortly after Dahl's death, with illustrations by Patrick Benson.
An updated version has now come out with new pictures by Sir Quentin.

England bowled out West Indies for 123 but then struggled in reply as 14 wickets fell on a remarkable first day of the deciding Test at Lord's.

Donald Trump has agreed to a Democratic plan to lift the debt limit for three months, fund the government and rush aid to Hurricane Harvey victims.
The US president went against Republican leaders who wanted to extend a debt-limit increase for longer, until after the 2018 mid-term elections.
Democrats announced the deal just before the House of Representatives passed $8bn (£6bn) for Harvey victims.

Christian Dior and Gucci owners drop super-skinny models
The fashion houses behind brands including Christian Dior and Gucci have said they will stop using underweight models for their catwalk shows.
LVMH and Kering, two of the biggest fashion firms in the world, made the move amid criticism the industry encourages eating disorders.
Models must be bigger than a French size 32 for women, which corresponds to a UK size six or US size zero.

Fox Names Michael Thorn Entertainment President; David Madden in Talks at AMC
David Madden is departing his role as entertainment president of Fox Broadcasting. Michael Thorn, a veteran of the network’s sibling studio 20th Century Fox Television, has been tapped to succeed him as head of scripted programming and development at the broadcast network.
Sources tell Variety that Madden is in negotiations for a job overseeing programming at AMC and Sundance TV.

Devices have been used to aid computation for thousands of years, mostly using one-to-one correspondence with fingers. The earliest counting device was probably a form of tally stick. Later record keeping aids throughout the Fertile Crescent included calculi (clay spheres, cones, etc.) which represented counts of items, probably livestock or grains, sealed in hollow unbaked clay containers.The use of counting rods is one example.
